Welcome to

The Zonta Club of
Rome, NY

Past, present, future

The purpose remains today: “Build a better world for women and girls.”
In the same year the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution granting women the right to vote, specifically, June 4th, 1919, by the United States Congress, Zonta was born in Buffalo, NY on Nov 8, 1919, facilitated by our then leader and founder, Marion de Forest with approximately 20 other like-minded, visionary women.

The status of women has indeed improved, thanks to the unrelenting efforts of countless women and men, known and unknown, named, and unnamed, recognized, and unrecognized.

Zonta Club of Rome, NY organized May 12, 1922, is continuing to help women leave a legacy of:

Advancing the status of women worldwide through local involvement in service and advocacy.
