All the World is our Stage Zonta International District 2, 2010-12 Welcome to the new Biennium – Governor Sue Ann Cunliffe Shakespeare’s phrase ‘All the world is a stage’ particularly resonates with me when meeting Zonta’s mission. I might be sitting in a meeting of my Auburn Club or sending a planning e-mail to members of the District 2 Board, and the effort will have worldwide impact in advancing the status of women. And I, along with all Zontians am a principal player in meeting this mission. All the world IS our stage!

Voila! A theme for the Biennium was born that truly personifies who I am.

I have been in theatre for 35 years. This is what I know -- You need a good script, and Zonta International makes for an amazing script. You need a talented cast, and we have thousands of very diversified, talented and committed Zontian cast members. And you need an audience…Our audience is a world of women, and it is a privilege to work for them.

As a District 2 Zontian, I invite you to step onto the Zonta stage as if it is for the first time. I invite you to continue to develop your talents, to build your role and to perform to the best of your abilities with the Zontians around you, within your club and the district.

We have some script work to do. We need to write a solid scene regarding our long-term financial health, and we need to encourage Zontians of all talent levels to take on leadership roles in our future. And we need to continue auditioning for new talent.

I am excited to get started on a new Biennium. Mr. Shakespeare, please forgive the poetic license:
All the world is our stage, and we Zontians, important players. We have our exits and our entrances, and one Zontian in her timeplays many parts, her act being unlimited ages…
